  • Worms at Work: Vermicomposting 101

    • Join UF/IFAS Extension Polk County Master Gardener Volunteers at Mackay Gardens to learn about this unique and easy method of using worms to compost.   • Ask a Master Gardener at the Lake Wales Farmer’s Curb Market

    • Visit the Polk County Master Gardener booth for the latest gardening information and to ask gardening questions.
  • Introduction To Urban Agriculture: Composting (Part 3 of 4)

    • The Introduction to Urban Agriculture is a series of workshops where we will provide science-based information on different methods by which farmers and homeowners can grow crops in urban settings and small spaces, what crops are suitable for these systems, and how we can implement these methods into our operations. Part 3: Composting is part 3 of the series and it will concentrate on how to make compost.   • City Nature Challenge: Winter Haven Scrub Bioblitz

    • Join us for the City Nature Challenge in Winter Haven to explore and document the unique scrub habitat through a fun bioblitz! Scrub ecosystems are among the rarest in Florida.
